About
Hi, I’m Karen Ann Cherkis and for over 15 years I’ve worked on bringing novel biomarkers and therapeutics to the market. My interest in drug development began in graduate school working on academic lab spinouts as part of an entrepreneurship program at the University of North Carolina. I pride myself on being an “all position” player, having purposely curated my career to include technical, clinical/medical, business development, strategy and commercial roles. I have worked on assets at their inception through follow-on indications. I thrive in both large pharma and small biotech environments and have an appreciation and understanding of their differences. Finally, I truly enjoy building out successful teams including mentoring over 20 PharmD, MD and PhD fellows, leading lean organizations and serving as the accountable party for 40+ person cross-functional teams.
